If you don't feed it it will still last quite a while, most stores don't feed them once they have them in stock-so it also depends on how recently they were brought in to the shop. The ones we've had (for my brothers leopard gecko) have lasted over 3 weeks before dying if they wern't fed- and the Gecko didn't catch them. It's still important to feed them though even if you've only brought them to feed to a gecko or some other animal as if they use up their food stores or are skinny the gecko won't get as many nutrients.
