Moss is a type of plant that reproduces through spores rather than seeds. These spores are released from structures called sporangia, which are present on the tips of moss plants. When the spores land in a suitable environment with moisture and shade, they can germinate and grow into new moss plants.

Moss isn't really "made out of" anything. It's a plant. If you grab a clump of moss you have a clump of individual moss plants. They consist of root parts that anchor the plant to the rock/tree trunk/ground/whatever, the stalk which provides structure and transports material throughout the plant, leaf like structures that specialize in photosynthesis, and reproductive structures that produce and release spores.

Mosses are a very primative type of plant that is nonvascular, meaning it has no true vascular tissue (xylem and phloem). Because of this mosses don't have actual roots, stems, or leaves, only similar root-, stem-, and leaf-like organs.
