Glucose is broken down during respiration through a series of enzymatic reactions. In glycolysis, glucose is converted into pyruvate, producing ATP and NADH. Pyruvate then enters the citric acid cycle in the mitochondria, where it is further broken down to produce more ATP and NADH through a series of oxidation-reduction reactions. Overall, the process of respiration generates energy in the form of ATP from the breakdown of glucose.

What chemical is broken down by respiration?

The chemical broken down by respiration is glucose. During the process of respiration, glucose is converted into carbon dioxide, water, and energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) through a series of biochemical reactions.

What converts energy to glucose?

Glucose is broken down to release energy during respiration.

GLUCOSE

What during cellular respiration?

During cellular respiration the Glucose is broken down. It may be in either of two processes- Aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration. In Aerobic respiration there is break down of glucose in CO2 and H2O along with energy in presence of O2. This can be shown in following reaction C6H12O6 + O2 --------> CO2 + H2O + Energy And in anaerobic respiration glucose is broken down in any alcohol.

What is broken down into CO2 and H2O during cellular respiration?

Glucose is broken down into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) during cellular respiration to release energy. This process occurs in the mitochondria of cells to produce ATP, the cell's main energy source.

What does cellular respiration break down in order to release energy?

glucose is broken down in glycolysis during respiration to release energy

Is glucose and oxygen the result of resperatation?

No, glucose and oxygen are the reactants in respiration. During respiration, glucose is broken down in the presence of oxygen to release energy, carbon dioxide, and water.

What product of photosynthesis is used in cellur respiration?

The product of photosynthesis used in cellular respiration is glucose. Glucose is created during photosynthesis and then broken down in cellular respiration to produce energy for the cell.

What is the first molecule broken down in the cytoplasm during respiration?

Glucose is the molecule. One ATP is used.

How is glucose stored in leaves?

When glucose gets broken down in animals and plants during respiration, stored energy is released in cells.

Cellular respiration often begins with glucose which is broken down during what?

Cellular respiration often begins with glycolysis, where glucose is broken down into pyruvate. This process occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell and generates a small amount of ATP.

Type of compounds broken down during cellular respiration?

During cellular respiration, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are broken down to produce energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). This process involves a series of biochemical reactions that occur in the presence of oxygen.
