An asteroid is a rock that is orbiting out in space. There is an asteroid belt located between Mars and Jupiter. It is nearly 3 AU away from the Earth. An AU is just over 92 million miles, so this gives some idea of the actual distance.

How far are meteorites from the sun?

They are about 93 million miles from the Sun. That's how far the Earth is from the Sun and they are all here on the Earth. You see, a "meteorite" is defined as a "meteoroid" that's landed on Earth from space. You probably meant "meteoroid". These are closely associated with the asteroid belt, but their distances from the Sun vary a lot.

Is the earth inside or outside the asteroid belt?

From the sun it goes Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, ASTEROID belt, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto (although no longer classed as a planet). So the earth is inside the orbit of the asteroid belt.

Is earth in asteroid belt?
