That depends on where they are in their orbits of the Sun. At certain times they are on opposite sides of the Sun form each other and at other times they are on the same Side of the Sun so the distance between them is constantly changing.

This said, Mercury orbits at an average of about 0.39 AU from the Sun and Neptune at an average of about 30 AU from the Sun.
