  • Hurricanes are destructive weather systems which involve strong winds, heavy rain and thunder.
  • Winds exceeding 80 mph cause flooding and damage which results in injury and death.
  • Houses, buildings, cars and other vehicles will be ruined and people will be killed.
  • When a hurricane is done, it send a HUGE downpour That means it rains VERY hard. Some hurricanes may cause floods or land slides with their water.

the impact on natural environments is that most of plants that are not secured in the ground will be blown away, affecting other animals and plants.

One effect of hurricanes on the environment is they cause erosion.

Another effect of hurricanes of hurricanes on the environment is on bayous.

Yet another effect of hurricane son the environment is they destroy many, many things.

When the hurricane comes it causes the water to rise and also to make huge waves.

The hurricane takes the roots out of the ground and then the sand doesn't hold. Then, the sand dune collapses.

Some fish die from hurricanes because of the bacteria levels.

Hurricanes leave alot of damage after they end. Most people have lost everything, and don't know what to do. It is very hard to live your life like you used to before, also it's not easy to clean up after the hurricane. One reason is that there is only a few people that are left unhurt. Another reason is that it costs alot of money to rebuild everything.

The rain has stopped, the wind has died down, the sun is now out and the air is still, very still.

There is no power, no phones, not even cell phones, no traffic, no sounds, it is very scary indeed.

Everyone exits to see what kind of damaged has occurred during the hurricane. Mostly, trees and tree branches are down and the clean up is starting. You can hear the sound of chain saws ringing throughout the air. Trees are being cut in pieces as well as being removed from houses and cars.

Homes with the most damage are secured with tarps in preparation of rebuilding them to their natural state as soon as "relief comes" from FEMA. Lucky enough, we live in a country where help is sent and protection from the National Guard is a must.

It may takes years to get everything back to normal for the worst hit areas. Luckily enough this was only a cat 3, which means the poor folks who live in the Caribbean area who were hit with a cat 5 are much worse off than we are.
