In a single-celled organism, one cell performs all essential functions such as digestion, respiration, and reproduction. In contrast, in a multicellular organism, cells are specialized to carry out specific functions, leading to division of labor within the organism. Multicellular organisms have different cell types organized into tissues, organs, and systems to perform various functions.

How do the multicellular living thing compare with the functions of cells in a multicellular living thing?

Multicellular living things are made up of multiple cells that work together to perform specific functions. Each cell in a multicellular organism is specialized to carry out a particular function, such as nerve cells transmitting signals or muscle cells contracting. The coordinated efforts of these specialized cells allow multicellular organisms to maintain homeostasis, grow, and respond to environmental stimuli effectively.

what Unicellular organisms are made up of only one cell. Multicellular organisms are made up of more than one cell. Which life functions can be performed by both unicellular and multicellular organisms?

Both unicellular and multicellular organisms can perform functions such as reproduction, growth, obtaining and using energy, responding to their environment, and maintaining homeostasis. These life functions are essential for the survival of all living organisms.

What is the difference between unicellular and multicellular living things?

Unicellular living things are made up of a single cell, while multicellular living things are made up of multiple cells that are specialized to perform different functions. Unicellular organisms carry out all life processes within that single cell, while multicellular organisms have cells that work together to form tissues, organs, and organ systems.

Is an earthworm multicellular?

Of course it is. Every living being of that size and complexity is multicellular.

How are unicellular creatures and multicellular creatures alike?

Both unicellular and multicellular creatures are living organisms. They both carry out functions such as reproduction, growth, and response to stimuli. Additionally, they both have specific structures and processes that enable them to survive and thrive in their environments.

Is every living thing have a multicellular organism?

No. While pretty much any living thing you can see without a microscope is multicellular, most living things are actually unicellular.

What is a living thing composed of many cells?

An organism made up of many cells is called multicellular organism. These organisms have specialized cells that perform different functions, and they can range in size from microscopic to huge, like plants, animals, and fungi.

Am I a organism?

Yes, you are an organism. Organisms are living beings made up of cells that carry out various functions to support life. As a human being, you exhibit characteristics of a complex multicellular organism.
