Mixtures and compounds are both made up of two or more substances. However, in a mixture, the substances are physically combined and can be separated using physical methods, while in a compound, the substances are chemically combined in a fixed ratio and can only be separated using chemical means.

COMPOUNDS: is formed when two substances are chemically bonded to each other. These have different physical and chemical properties from the substances they were made from. These are also harder to return to the original substances.

MIXTURES: the two materials are combined but they do not bond, or react with each other, indeed they can only be formed by mechanically mixing the two substances. Mixtures can often be separated back into the original materials. The properties of a mixture are close to those of the two materials that make up a mixture.

How are mixtures and compound alike and different?

Mixtures and compounds are alike in the manner that they are made up of two or more different parts. They are different in the manner, that a compound usually consists of elements being chemically altered, and in a mixture the substances are just combined.

Mixtures can what but compounds cant?

Mixtures can be separated by physical methods.

How are solutions and heterogenous alike?

Heterogeneous and Homogeneous mixtures are alike because they are both compounds, and both made up of different elements. The main difference is that Heterogeneous mixtures' components are very obvious, rather then Homogeneous solutions' appear to be one substance.

Do heterogeneous mixtures combine to form compounds?

No. Heterogeneous mixtures are not compounds.

What is the same between compounds and mixtures?

Both compounds and mixtures are made up of two or more substances. However, compounds are chemically bonded together to form a new substance with a fixed composition, while mixtures are physically mixed together and can be separated by physical means.

How do mixtures differ from compound?

mixtures differ from compounds because mixtures are made up of random things that have no similarities and compounds don't.
