The boxing day tsunami affected mainly LEDCs such as Bangladesh Sri Lanka and the maldives.

However Newly Industalised countries were also affected such as India and Indonesia. MEDCs are better prepared anyway.

Tsunamis can affect both MEDCs (More Economically Developed Countries) and LEDCs (Less Economically Developed Countries). However, the impact can be more severe in LEDCs due to factors such as inadequate infrastructure, limited resources for disaster preparedness, and lower capacity to respond effectively to the disaster. MEDCs may have better warning systems, evacuation procedures, and resources to mitigate the impact of tsunamis.

Both you idiot. A tsunami affects the area it hits, obviously. Therefore if it hits an MEDC it will affect that MEDC. If it hits an LEDC it affects that LEDC. Tsunamis have higher impacts on LEDCs because their infrastructure is weaker, so is less able to withstand the force of the surging wave(s). Their emergency services are worse and are a lot slower to respond, meaning that injured people will most likely die, whereas in MEDCs injured people can be treated by more efficient emergency services. Another aspect that means MEDCs cope better is that they have more money, so are able to recover more quickly and can provide food and shelter for those affected without too much of a problem. However, LEDCs have to rely on the charity of richer countries. i hope this was helpful and sorry if I was a bit harsh, I'm in a bad mood!! :/
