very, very few. maybe 5
Uhm, sorry, but You are quite wrong. There were over 10.000 people living in Pompeii (census records were incomplete at the time), and another 10.000-15.000 people in the surrounding area. Records of Rome show that there were relief centers set up to handle over 30.000 people that had fled the towns of Pompeii, Ercolano, Oplantis, and other villages on the plain at the base of Mt. Vesuvio.
Many written texts, written by some of those that fled, have survived to this day, allowing Us to know what the final day was like. The most famous of these was written by Pliny the Younger and tells how many started fleeing shortly after 1:00pm, when the citizenry felt the first rumblings and saw the huge column of smoke coming from the mountain. Vesuvio had not erupted for centuries, so the current inhabitants had no idea what was happening.
By mid-afternoon the column of smoke had turned to ash and pumice, and as people were fleeing it rained down on them, covering the streets with 15 cm of rubble in one hour.
By nightfall, the pyroclastic surge had killed many with its deadly gases and heat reaching 1500* F. By midnight all was over, with Pompeii filled with molten lava that actually buried the towns and plain under 15 feet of new soil.
We don't know how many people escaped Pompeii before the eruption. We don't know the population of Pompeii, so any estimation of the deaths or the escapees is pure guess work, not solid fact.We don't know how many people escaped Pompeii before the eruption. They were known as Italians, being that that is where Pompeii is situated. But, people from Pompeii are called Pompeians.

Some of the survivors of the Pompeii eruption were those who had left the city before the eruption, escaped to sheltered areas, or were in less affected regions of the city. Historians believe that only a small percentage of the population actually survived the disaster.
In Dead Rising, the maximum amount of survivors that can be recruited to follow the player character at a time is 8. This includes any survivors that join the player automatically during missions or events.
Some survivors were helped by the fleet at Miseneum. Others like Pliny the Younger were able to walk the relatively short distance to safety (less than 10 miles). Only 2,000 died in Pompeii. A small number in Herculaneum waited until it was too late. The majority of the residents of both Herculaneum and Pompeii fled. There are records of them being in Neopolis after the quake. Many homes in both cities were vacation homes so presumably some people returned to their main residences. Other accounts report survivors returning to dig and try to salvage valuables. The Emperor sent money for relief to the survivors. It must have been a huge refugee crises with 30,000 or more people fleeing to Neapolis, Miseneum and other communities around the Bay of Naples.
Yes, ash got into their eyes and their eyes got completely black.
Experts think that around 20,000 could have escaped, which is about 90% of the population. There are many that survived and it is very difficult to find the names of a few survivors, let alone this many.
He saves others lifes but he just ends up dying
No, their were no survivors.
They evacuated Pompeii. They residents knew Vesuvius would have a large eruption soon, as it was spouting ash and lava.
They do not know the population of Pompeii. Any figures given out are just estimates as there were no population records for the town. They do not know the population of Pompeii. The only survivors were people who were there. Some escaped, but most died. The eruption sent gases and rocks so fast that,in 7 minuets the coastline was changed forever, buried 65 acres, and three cities were affected. Anyone in Pompeii was dead in several feet of ash and rocks. Today to get into Pompeii you walk up a walkway because the ground level of Pompeii is above the modern ground level.
Yes, there were about 3 million Holocaust survivors.
no
They don't. That's right, people don't live in Pompeii any more. The better question here is: How "did" people make a living in Pompeii.
Pompeii doesn't have any importance to Australia, except for people who are archaeologists and interested in travelling over there.
