Charged atoms, called ions, form ionic compounds when they combine chemically with one another.
Electrons
Atoms that have lost or gained electron(s) are called ions. If they are positively charged (lost an electron(s)), they are called cations. If they are negatively charged (gained an electron(s), they are called anions.
It is called ion. If it is positively charged then it is called as cation and if it is negatively charged it is called anion
Many things are composed of charged particles, including atoms (which consist of positively charged protons, neutral neutrons, and negatively charged electrons), ions (atoms with a net positive or negative charge), and plasma (a state of matter in which electrons are stripped from atoms, creating a mix of charged particles).
They are called ions.
In general, an atom with a charge, either positive or negative, is called an ion.A positively charged atom is called a cation and a negatively charged atom is an anion.
One! An atom is not made up of other atoms, but has a nucleus of a positively-charged proton and a neutrally-charged neutron. It is surrounded by a network of positively-charged particles called electrons. (sorry, NEGATIVELY charged particles called electrons!)
Ions. They are charged molecules or charged atoms.
A charged atom or group of atoms are known as ions or radicals.

Electrons
If atoms lose electrons they will have a positively charged ion called a cation. If they gain electrons, they will have a negatively charged ion called an anion.
The process is called ionization, where an atom gains or loses electrons to become an electrically charged ion.
