In the US, I have tried it with 2, and it arrived. Wasn't sure if 1 would make it.

You can include a piece of cardboard to keep the photo from bending in shipping. Also, write "Do Not Bend" on the envelopes. On average, there is going to be a 3+ month wait for a response. If you do not live in USA, add several* International Reply Coupons, which will be used by the receiver to purchase American stamps. You can only get them at your post office. Place the IRCs into the envelope, not on it.
The postage required to mail something depends mostly on the weight and the destination, but can also depend on the size, shape, and thickness, as well as whether or not the item is too rigid to go through automatic sorting machines.

It depends on the weight It depends on the weight
It depends on how heavy the contents are and how big the envelope is.
Depends all on the weight.
my mom who is a postal worker says 2
how many stamps for a 3.4oz envelope
i believe the most you need is 3.
One 49-cent stamp should be all that is needed.
As of June 10, one ounce of first class mail is 44¢. Every additional ounce is 20¢. So, a six ounce envelope would cost $1.44 to mail, or four forever stamps.
If you envelope weighs less than one ounce, it will take one forever stamp or one current first class stamp. If the letter and envelope weigh more than one ounce, the number of stamps will depend on the weight and the denomination of the stamps.

As many as will fit. I have one envelope in my collection with 44 stamps on it! The sender used one cent stamps to mail it. Some people will overlap stamps to get more to fit, which is okay as long as the Post Office can plainly see that they are all there.
The number of stamps needed for an envelope depends on the weight and destination. The weight limit for a standard USPS First-Class Mail envelope is 3.5 ounces. For an envelope weighing 12 lbs, you would need to use a different shipping method, such as USPS Priority Mail or USPS Priority Mail Express. The specific number of stamps required can be calculated using the USPS postage rate calculator or by visiting your local post office.
