1: "Why was Andew Lloyd Webber.." Andrew Lloyd Webber is still alive. :)
He is popular because he has had a role in producing or writing a ton of plays that are the best rated in London and Broadway, like Cats, Sound of Music (he produced it), Phantom of the Opera, Evite, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Starlight Express, and many many more.
I just found it at movielead dot com. I've worked with them before, so... I trust them.
T.S Eliot wrote poems in a book called "Old Possums Book of Pratical Cats" and Andrew llotd webber made it into a musical in 1981. However it was written in the 1930's.
Lloyd Polite has never stated what his favorite color is, so we can not speculate as to what his favorite color is.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is having a year off so will be returning in 2010!
No, it's an opera either Andrew Lloyd Webber or Gaston Leaux came up with? I hope I helped. It was Andrew Lloyd Webber. He was deliberately trying to make it campy so that the stage actors would have a laugh.

The Phantom had a two way mirror to speak to Christine, so she would think she was talking to the Angel of Music. When the Phantom crashed the mirrors toward end of the Andrew Lloyd Webber's version of the story, he did not want to be reminded of his hideous face and loss to Christine to Raoul.
...and I meant Phantom of the Opera's Original London Cast Play. I would pay some good money to get that recording. I know they did that with Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats Production - and I own that one..
The Phantom of the Opera (the novel) was written by Gaston Leroux. The more famous musical adaptation was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe. There hasn't been an actual opera of it though, so this question is kinda out of place in the opera category, and also Mozart????
Andrew Jackson won. Adams won but lost the popular vote so Andrew Jackson won.
Brightman may refer to Al Brightman who was a basketball player and coach or Sarah Brightman who is a soprano, dancer, songwriter and actress. Appearing in several Broadway musicals, she is well remembered for originating the role of Christine Daae in the Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera. A part Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote specifically for her.
So far this season, Mark Webber has had 0 retirements.
Patti LuPone was fired from Sunset Boulevard for a number of reasons. First of all, when the production opened it was in the very early stages of Sunset.....there was an altered score, different set, etc. The show that would come to Broadway was very different than the world premiere at the Adelphi. Second, after Sunset opened critics from both London and America weighed in their opinions. In London, the reviews were mixed, but many enjoyed LuPone's performance. In America, almost all of the critics gave the show a negative review. They claimed that LuPone was "miscast and unmoving" and that "she doesn't seem to understand how a great star would behave" Third, before LuPone was ever in rehearsal, Glenn Close was cast as the Los Angeles Norma and after they opened she received good reviews. After all of this, Andrew Lloyd Webber decided that it would be commercially safer to fire LuPone and hire Close for Broadway. Lloyd Webber chose not to tell LuPone and she infamously found out by her agent who had just read Liz Smith's column, "It's Glenn as Norma." Basically, Andrew Lloyd Webber is overly greedy and wanted to make sure that he would wring out every penny he could from audiences, so he chose a bigger name.
