No, though Cheryl Cole is now a judge on x-factor she was never a contestant on that particular show. However her rise to fame did start on a similar show called "Popstars: The Rivals" where she and the other winning girls were put together in a band called "Girls Aloud". The show created two rival groups the girls group "Girls Aloud" and the boy group "One True Voice" which were then made to compete. Though the boy group won the competition girls aloud were actually the band that had commercial success.
The group formed as the winners of Popstars the Rivals, shown on ITV in2002. The idea of the show was to choose a girl band and a boy band, and then see which band's song topped the charts first. Girls aloud was the band formed from the female winners, and the boy band was One True Voice. Girls Aloud won when their song 'Sound of the Underground' reached number one during the last show of the series. One True Voice made the number two spot the same week, then sank without trace.
Well, she entered a show called Pop star the rival's. her and the 4 other Girls Aloud stars (Kimberly, Sarah, Nichola. Nadine) were combined as the 5 best singers that would fit together so the became the group on the show. The ended up competing against a boy band (cant remember what they were called) although girls aloud won. Girls aloud then went on to become the most successful girl band of all time! Hope this helps anyone who needed it x
well acording to the Cheryl Cole magezine I read, all five of girls aloud went onto a tv show sepeartly called Popstars: The rivals. And the manager off the show turned them int a group and that is how it was formed.
She is in the band 'girls aloud' which is how she first got famous. Girls aloud first started from a tv show. There were auditions for singers then a boy band (boyzone) and a girl band (girls aloud) went against each other. Both bands carried on being bands...then cheryl went on x-factor then recently did a solo album hope this is what you were looking for... :)
