You can buy an oboe swab at mostly any music stores. It is basically a fine fabric with a weight at the end that will drag the swab down through the oboe, cleaning out the spit.

The Oboe is in the woodwind family.
its really hard and complex. i wouldn't recommend it because only professionals can make it sound right. it would be easier and cheaper just to buy one
Oboe reeds either come out good or come out bad. I would stay away from Jones reeds if I were you.
There is the heckelphone, the bass oboe, the cor anglais, the oboe d'amore, the regular oboe, and the piccolo oboe. Maybe there are others.
