One Direction went on the British X Factor, but they all entered as solo artists. After bootcamp they were all rejected but then Simon Cowell & Nicole Scherzinger decided to put them in a group.
The boys then continued the competition in a group called One Direction dispite the fact that they only had a very short time to know each other. sadly the boys came 3rd place in X Factor but Simon Cowell did give them a record deal & now they are one of the most popular boy bands.
