Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress. She made her recording debut in 1990 under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, and became the first recording artist to have her first five singles top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Mariah Carey's mother was an opera singer who taught Mariah how to sing. When Mariah was 16 she got a job as a background singer on the song "I Still Believe" by Brenda K Starr. It was a minor hit in the 1980's. Brenda K Starr thought that Mariah Carey was very talented and could easily be a solo act so Starr took Carey to a Sony Music party and introduced Carey to Sony Music President Tommy Mollata. They gave him a demo tape. On his drive home Mollata played Mariah Carey's demo tape and was so impressed that he drove back to the party to look for her. She had already left but he found her name and number from other people at the party. Mollata signed Carey to a record deal. Her first album had the hits "Love Takes Time", "Someday", "Vision Of Love", and "I Dont Wanna Cry". They divorced a few years ago. On her Greatest Hits Album Mariah Carey re-recorded "I Still Believe" in honor of Brenda K Starr (and Mariah had a minor hit with her verison)
Listen to people who do it extremely well like Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, Celine Dion. Just start real slow and soft then gradually get lounder and faster. Also, make sure you have proper vowel placement because that will make it a lot easier to riff.

Eminem has written several songs referring to a relationship with pop singer Mariah Carey, although she denies the claim.[90] Songs Eminem has referenced her on include "Superman", "Jimmy Crack Corn", "Bagpipes From Baghdad", and "The Warning". While "Superman" was released in 2003, Carey released a song entitled "Clown" on her Charmbracelet album, released around the same time, which makes similar references in line with her 2009 hit "Obsessed".Eminem's "Bagpipes From Baghdad" from his album Relapse may be his best known Carey diss due to the controversy it caused. The song calls out Mariah and husband Nick Cannon's relationship.[91] Cannon responded to Eminem by saying his career is based on "racist bigotry", and that he would get revenge on Eminem, joking that he may return to rapping.[92]Eminem later stated that the couple misinterpreted the track and it was wishing the two the best.[91] Cannon also stated that there were no hard feelings, and that he just had to express his feelings about the song.[93]In 2009 Carey released "Obsessed" in which she sings about an obsessed man who claims to be having a relationship with her.[94] Cannon claimed that the song was not an insult directed at Eminem.[95] Eminem then released a track in late July 2009 titled "The Warning" which was a direct insult at Mariah and Nick, and contained samples of a voice which is either Carey's, or a very good voice actress (Eminem does not tell the listener).[96]
