From between 1750-1800 Composers depended on the patronage of Noblemen. This meant that composers often wrote music to entertain for specific occasions. The music of the Classical period is very strict on form and not very daring in terms of Harmony, but is usually light hearted, memorable.

Important composers from the period are are Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
The music was mainly intrumental as opposed to the baroque era.
