In principle, any type of radio service can be carried on in any part of the radio spectrum.

But it happens that the commercial AM radio broadcast service is situated quite low in the

spectrum ... between 0.55 and 1.7 MHz. As such, it has the longest wavelength that you're

likely to run into.

There are certainly services that operate at lower frequencies ... time signals to the so-called

"atomic" clocks, submarine communication, legacy navigation systems etc. But of the two choices

listed in the question, AM radio is by the far the lower frequency / longer wavelength.

Which type of em wave carries television and radio singnals?

Radio waves are the type of electromagnetic wave that carries television and radio signals. They have longer wavelengths than microwaves and shorter wavelengths than infrared waves.

What type of electromagnetic wave is used for TVs?

The type of electromagnetic wave used for TVs is radio waves. Specifically, TV signals are carried on radio frequencies within the electromagnetic spectrum.

What type of electromagnetic wave does radio receive?

Radio waves have the longest wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum. These waves can be longer than a football field or as short as a football. Radio waves do more than just bring music to your radio. They also carry signals for your television and cellular phones.

How does the sped of radio wave compare with speed of tv waves when both measured in vacuum?

Both radio waves and tv waves are electromagnetic waves. So both have the same speed in vacuum. Of course radio waves are of lower frequency compared to that of tv waves.

The main difference between a radio wave and a light wave is?

The difference between a radio wave and a x-ray is the fact that x-rays have a much higher frequency. Since higher frequency means more energy in electromagnetic waves, x-rays can be used for purposes such as taking photos of things inside the body. Radio waves are at a lower frequency and have a much longer wavelength. They are used in radio, television, and communication.

What type of wave carries signals for radio and television program's?

Communications Satellites ************************ Electro-magnetic waves. Carrier waves.

What type of waves are electromagnet waves?

yes so is am fm radio and tv signals

What type of wave has the longest wavelength?

Radio waves are amongst the shortest. Gamma and X rays are shorter. The long wave lengths are at the other end of the electromagnetic spectrum. These are called 'infra red,

Radio waves carry what from a station to your home?

Radio waves carry information encoded as electromagnetic signals from the radio station to your home. These signals are received by the antenna of your radio or other device, which then decodes them to produce sound or data for you to listen to or view.

How do AM radio and television wavelengths compare with radar?

AM radio, FM radio, television, cellphones, GPS, and microwave ovens all use radio waves that are longer than the ones used for RADAR.

Which is longer am radio waves or tv waves?

AM radio operates at 500-1500kHz, which translates to 600-200 m wavelengths. TV uses several non-contiguous frequency bands starting at 54 MHz which translates to wavelengths of 5.556 m and below. Clearly AM radio has much longer wavelengths.
