1999-2004, 2.5 inch in dash tweeters, 6X9 in front doors, 6.5 inch in rear doors, the upgraded infinity stereo has a 180 watt amp under the passenger side rear seat. The 6X9 front door speakers are for low frequency (bass), if you replace these with full range 6X9's you will only here bass, unless you tap into the tweeter wires in the dash and wire them into the tweeters on the 6X9's. the factory tweeters in the dash will distort and crack if played to loud, but they sound good at reasonable volume levels.
Call your local Jeep dealership and tell them your car year and model i have a 2001 grand Cherokee Laredo they will know the correct infinity gold speakers you need but mine keep getting blown out i would ask if there are any better model speakers that are compatible with your car....p.s... DO NOT LET THEM INSTALL THE SPEAKERS FOR YOU THEY CHARGE 80$ FOR SOMTHING THAT TAKES 2 MINUTES TO DO...its extremely simple just unscrew your door pannel pull it off and the speaker will plug right in an infant could do this.
