Yes, from what I understand they are. They are called a Southern Devil. The bites is likened to a bee sting, but should be treated, especially if they bite a small child. I have recently found 2 in my home. They come in looking for moisture.

The Southern devil (Vejovis carolinianus) and striped (Centruroides vittatus) scorpions. The former can grow to 1.5 inches long, while the latter can get a bit bigger.

Yes. In fact I found one in my house. The ones found in Georgia are not really dangerous. About the same as a bee or a hornet. They don't tend to get big here either.

There are no poisonous scorpions in Georgia....aside from the ones in zoos and stuff. No native Georgian scorpion though.

yes,if you look around the petersburg lake you might find some under bark on fallen trees,they are not big, about an inch long
