He was Romantic-period composer and was known widely as (probably) the greatest pianist/composer of Poland. One of his his most well-known pieces is Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2. His music benefits from rubato (slight tempo changes within pieces that help it become more expressive; it is done to the soloist/conductor's discretion).

Chopin was a Polish-French pianist. He was very good on his instrument and was famous for that. He also was a composers and is famous for his 2nd nocturne in E-Flat and the "Marche Funèbre" from the 3rd movement of his piano sonata.
