Elvis was working at Crown Electric in Memphis Tennessee driving a truck while he pursued his dream of being a singer on the Sun Record Label through the Memphis Recording Studio owned by Sam Phillips.
He quit school at the age of 16 and moved to London to play music. He knew that is what he wanted to do with his life and he wanted to get as much practice playing gigs as possible. He played a show almost everyday and sometimes played multiple shows in a day (as many as FOUR!).
He was either playing piano for his small band, Bluesology, playing solo concerts at a local hotel, or running errands for a London publishing house.
