No, the bass drum is not pitched because it does not play the melody to a song it only plays the beat .
Currently, the lowest-end Tama drum kit is the Imperialstar, but the Rockstar set is cheaper if you buy it off a resale site like eBay or Craigslist.
The lowest sounding instrument in the ORCHESTRAL string family is the double bass. It is also the largest. Hope I helped. :D
