the way the music is performed
with marching band you travel to invitationals and competitions and you compete and while both take a lot of work marching band is expensive but the experience is worth it. with marching band you well march and learn choreography and the music your multi- tasking.
Marching band- is where you march and play instruments.
Concert band- you are seated in chairs playing instruments.
Marching Bands also do field shows and parades while they play. These bands also include a color guard, who are people that spin flags
This guy does NOT say the true difference. Marching band is 10000% different than concert band. You need 200x more air, to blow the sound to the audience (still having a good sound). Concert band's Mezzo Forte is waay quieter than marching, because concert.. It sounds prettier, its slower, sometimes can be faster, i guess. But marching would be like The Incredibles song (from the movie). (That is what i am currently marching) and band people once you hit marching band grade level (high school and up) are crazy, we had one dude that looked just like frozone (in a way) started yelling to this girl (his friend obviously) saying "Where is my, SUPER, SUIT!?!? lol get into marching band, its fun, don't be intimidated by the looks, its easy. This is coming from a 9th grader, so don't say "BUT YOUR EXPERIENCED!" Not really, Just guide, and remember your music. My favorite part of football games (marching band plays for varsity football while they play. and at halftime.) is usually the stand music. The people that play the absolute most, is low brass and Drum line.
In most cases, the pep band does not march. They sit in the stands at Basketball games and play during the game. Marching band performs at half-time during a football game.
no, we do not currently have a marching band, but we do have a pep band that plays at every home football game!
You can play an instrument and be in color guard the color guard is part of the band and in my school color guard isn't all year and for pep band all you have to do is get the music from your teacher and pratice it at home Color Guard is a very important aspect of a marching band. I am a color guard instructor and I see this a lot with my students... If you are interested in joining the color guard you need to find out all the requirements from the directors. My students do not play instruments during marching season, we perform as a dance squad on the sidelines of games. Many schools will have the color guard in the stands with their horns during the games so you may still be able to play. If you are going to join make sure you practice your horn during your off season.. You don't want your lips to be out of shape when concert season roles around.
A plastic clarinet is good for marching band or pep band. They are more durable then wooden clarinets and will not crack due to temperature like a wooden clarinet will. They are also good for students that are just starting out on clarinet. But for anyone serious about playing the clarinet it is better to invest in a wooden clarinet.

Virginia Pep Band was created in 1974.

A pep squad usually just shouts cheers, while cheerleaders do jumps, tumbling, stunts, perform routines, and compete. Pep squad is the lesser form of cheerleading

Pretty much any high school pep band folder I would imagine. My school band plays it at every varsity basketball game.
