**Juiliard is almost impossible to get into, first off. . . you have to have "the look". . . and if you don't have "the look", well sorry. . . and 2nd, you have to be able to speak english. . . as in Shakspeare english, and you have to know iambic pantamater, and how to use it with out being obvious about it, so yeah, it is a hard school to get into,
but me being a aspiring actor mixed with my competitive nature am going to strive to get into juliard. . . cuz it is a really good acting school
^sure, these are fantastic schools, but you left out some important ones!!!
NYU - Tisch School of the Arts
University of Michigan has an EXTREMEMLY competetive theatre program
Carnagie Mellon has a great theatre program
Elon is pretty great as well
Keep your options open!
^and for musical theatre: Cincinatti Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, Florida State, Oklahoma City, Northwestern, Syracuse, Ithaca
And...um...I'd take AMDA off of that list.

*Berklee is in Boston (the one that is the music school. The one in CA is spelled Berkeley and is not a P.A. college.) My son is a grad from Berklee in Boston. NYU Tisch has a great MT department and could boast an alumni in every show on Broadway a few years ago. Don't forget Emerson and Yale Drama.
There are many good theatre colleges throughout the nation, one of the ones I am more familiar with is Brenau University in Georgia. Columbia University has a good arts (theatre) program. NYU has a great program ... obviously, since they're near Broadway!! Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois (in the Chicago area) has many famous graduates, as does Depaul. Azusa Pacific University has a great theater program with a Christian emphasis. Yale has a great theatre program. Otterbein College in Columbus, Ohio also, if you are thinking about a smaller, liberal arts school.
See the link below for a list of schools.
Beyonce never went to college, but she went to two different high schools : High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Alief Elsik High School.
Other than the fact that they are both "arts", the performing arts and visual arts really don't have much in common. They are both considered "arts" in society because they are labeled as "displays of works of beauty". Whether you dance, sing, act, dance, draw, paint, or just plain doodle, you are performing "an art" in your own way! Hope this helps!
Cooking,Culinary,Baking ect.. are considered to be ''fine arts''Acting,Singing,Playing music are considered performing arts because your usually performing in front of people when you do these things.Hope that helped!
