Depends on where you are. With a cellphone you may drop a call or have no signal to get out, depending on towers and weather. With a landline phone, unless there is a power outage, you will have no trouble reaching the party you want to speak to. For some people it makes sense to just have a cellphone, they live in a well towered area and travel alot, then why bother paying for two phones. For others, unless they use it for just emergency, which by the way, all cellphone companies are required by law to allow cellphones for usage, WITHOUT having to buy a plan. You buy the equipment and pay the activation fee and they have to turn on the phone for 911/emergency use free, so if that's all you want a cell for you do that and take it with you when you go in the car. Dont leave it in the car, the heat from sun no good for battery plus don't charge the battery unless its on its last power bar, I have the same cellphone for almost 5 years with the same battery, because I don't charge it everyday, only when its low. Its a personal/financial decision, for what is best for you.
