A power riff is simply a set of power chords that are repeated. Power chords are separated into 2 and 3 string power chords. The basics of all power chords is the 1st finger on what is called the root note. This is the note of the name of the power chord, so for a D5 chord your first finger would be on the 5th fret of the A string. Using 2 string power chords, the little finger is then placed on next string up (up as in a higher sound), so in the case of a D5 chord the D string, and 2 frets higher, the 7th fret. When using 3 string power chords, the little finger covers the next 2 strings, so in the case of the D5 the D and G strings. Those are the basics of power chords. That's a rather vague question, but I'll say that specific chords are made of specific notes, and different chords are made up of different notes. from a listener's perspective, it doesn't matter what the chords are specifically, just how the song moves from one chord to the next. I suggest taking a few piano lessons to better satisfy curiosity in this area.
Sam Ash is a music store chain which carries sheet music. The guitar chords for the song "You Had a Bad Day" by Daniel Powter could probably be found there. If not, then a local music store would be the next choice. Musicians Friend also has a large variety of sheet music which is downloadable.
