a double bar line is what music is played on ( i am 12 years old)"

No...not at all...

A double bar-line indicates the end of a section. When the second line is thicker than the first, it indicates the end of the piece.

A double bar with dots is a repeat sign. It means go back to the beginning and play the whole section again. If the dots are on the left of the lines go either back to the beginning or look for one before that one with dots on the right of the lines. You repeat the section and then continue on.
