On a violin, the lowest note is the open string 'G' below 'Middle C'. It is relatively easy to play the 'G' that is 3 octaves higher but a good violinist can play hundreds of notes much higher than that.
Some string instruments, such as the guitar or mandolin, have frets going across the fingerboard which allow only certain predefined notes to be played.
There are no frets going across the fingerboard of the violin, so - because each finger's position can be varied very finely - it is impossible to say exactly how many different notes can be played by a skilled violinist.
The first answer shown above could perhaps be trying to describe the notes played in what is called the "First Position" but is incomplete because it fails to mention:
After you have learnt how to play in 1st position, the next one to learn is the 3rd position, followed by the 2nd position and then the 4th.
There are several more positions after those first four, but you would have to achieve a very high standard of playing to be able use them...
open strings (strings played without any fingering)
G,D,A,E
Notice the notes are in order of thickness
All the notes of the violin are from A to G
The notes are in order, example
Open string G plus one finger equals A then two fingers is B and so on
The fourth finger on all the string except E make the sound and are the same letter as the one next to it, fourth finger on G will give you D.
play F E D A G D E A A E D G G D A E
viola notes to the simpsons theme song?
The Viola does not have a treble cleft. but if you know the notes in a treble cleft write them down and just play the notes
Plain answer: Yes. If, desired, explanation: If by "cello music notes" you mean "bass clef notes" then certainly, a viola can play those. A cello can also play the notes which are usually played by viola, called alto clef notes. Since viola and cello have the same intervals and same note range, they can play each other's music as long as the musician can read both clefs.
you can't play fur elise on the viola!
A viola requires no transposition because it's already in concert pitch; however, the viola uses a different cleff than the piano called an Alto clef. In this clef, the middle line of the staff is middle C.

The four strings on the viola are C, G, D, and A, starting from the lowest to the highest strings. The viola is tuned one fifth below the violin.
The first notes on the D and A strings are G G A B G B A
a viola is an instrument, an Olivia is a person.
