Don't give up!! You'll get frustrated with things and feel like you suck but if you push on you can become very good. Also start basic chords and strum patterns are good. Also learn some scales and just start get used to it. Learn to love playing and don't let the excuse that your fingers hurt get in the way of practice. My fingers have actually bled before. ;)
