I would stay clear of any Selmer Bundy instruments. I got a Clarinet and a Flute of the same make (I'm stupid) and they both were terrible. I finally have better instruments now. A buffet Festival which is a professional model. For a clarinet for a beginner though I would recommend a Buffet beginner model. Also Leblanc instruments are good too.
My friend has a selmer bundy 577. I've played it a fair bit. It's the best student clarinet tone I've ever heard and it blows very easily. Oddly, the barrel is a bit loose on most mouthpieces (except the one it comes with). After trying his, I went clarinet shopping and tried all the Bundys they had in local stores (not 577s though) and they were all very unspectacular. Since they are student models, I imagine that quality is more variable than the pro models, but, like my friend, you might just get lucky.
It depends on your situation. If you are looking for a "professional" model then no it is not but if you are looking for a quality band instrument for a student to use in middle to high school and even through part of college then yes it is a very good American made instrument.
As a side note the Bundy 577 is an American made instrument and now there is only one American made company left which is Conn-Selmer and they bought out all the other brands across the country so Bundy is now a part of Conn-Selmer.
eBay, with craiglist a far second.
A Clarinet dummy
a 1971 Mark VI, around $6500 in today's market
Both the CL-300 and 301 are very good student instruments. The CL-300 was produced during the 1990s (1990-1999) and has a glossy finish. The CL-301 comes with a satin finish that Selmer refers to as "simulated wood", but both are good quality plastic instruments. The older Selmer/Bundy instruments were, in their heyday, among the most ubiquitous (and less expensive) student instruments that you could buy. They were pretty reliable but were targeted for the beginner(s). Still good to keep around during high school for marching band (outside) drilling and performances, but the CL-300/301 series are, IMO, better quality instruments.
I am trying to find out the same thing for mine. S/N: 25594 I know that Bundy wasn't purchased by Selmer until 1961 according to Selmer Elkhart, IN. Selmer doesn't have any records of their old serial numbers. Adams website doesn't help as it puts the S/N back in 1916 as this is way to old to be correct.

It5 was made in the 1400's

Bundy is a student line of instruments from Selmer. They're fine for school use and the casual player who doesn't want to spend much.
Bundy is Selmer's student line. A used one is typically worth around $100.
Best estimates put this trumpet as being manufactured after 1983.
Probably $20 on ebay. Or you could just make a lamp out of it.
Well you see, everyone wants a newer flute that plays better not an older, used vintage flute. That's why newer flutes are so expensive! Yours is most likely from the 70's. Since Selmer is a very common and not-so expensive flute brand of flute your best price range is worth around $40-$60. **I also have a Selmer vintage flute and its serial # is 258130 I got it for $70 at a local music store.
Best estimates put this trumpet as being manufactured around 1925-1926.
