Whatever a buyer will offer that an owner will accept to part with it, eh? I bought my 1966 from Ring music in Toronto, Ontario in 1985 for $280 + 3% sales tax. The original case was a mess, but I found a used acoustic hardshell case that does the job nicely. Shortly thereafter I met a guy at Reggie's Music in Hamilton who said he had one in his trunk, and "wouldn't part with it for 2 grand". I have a buddy who knows a guy who owns one (I set it up for him, but he was not ready to part with it at the time), so there are some around (between $300 and $2000), and that's my answer to your question. As for the guitar itself - fantastic!!! Mine had deep weather cracking on the top panel which affected neither the playability nor the sound (like a vintage Tele, the bridge pick-up will part your hair at 90 paces, eh?) Rafe

I purchased a used Yamaha Nippon Gakki classical guitar at a guitar show near the end of 2007, in Saratoga N.Y. It was well used and had a hair line crack where the neck joins the body, looks like it had been there for years. Some one had put steel strings on it which I replaced with nylon, and they had written the year 1966 on the label inside the body of the guitar. I assume that is when they bought it or when it was made. The instrument has wonderful full tone, and nice tuners. They were asking $45.00 for it but they took $35.00. I think I got a real bargain I like you am trying to find out if it is worth more. It is a wonderful instrument and I love it. I copied the following from someone else on the internet, can not vouch for its accuracy. The guitar is made of the following materials: Top: Spruce Back and Sides: Laminated Mahogany Neck and Fretboard: Nato and Rosewood The guitar is not listed in the Blue Book, but on the internet, they are selling for $80 to $165.
