It's possible they just like it. Screamo is actually a derivative of Hardcore Punk, along the lines of Powerviolence, Grindcore, Crust Punk, etc. What's currently dubbed as "Screamo" is a far cry from what it really is.

The best screamo bands according to fans are Pierce The Veil and Black Veil Brides. However, screamo in Brazil is a lot like screamo here in the US. We listen to the same type of bands.
It's the other way around. More kids listen to Hip Hop and Rap more then they listen to Screamo and i really think it sucks i cant stand rap and hip hop and cant stand listening to it. i prefer screamo, techno, metal and possably some pop or some rock. i dont get how people can stand living if they listen to rap and hip hop.
Screamo is the post-hardcore influenced sub-genre of emo. People listen to different types of music for different reasons. listening to post-hardcore isn't going to make you a "bad" person as the majority of people think. For most, listening to this genre of music helps relieve stress or is used as a coping method. "Screamo" may not sound like any other type of music to the average person but people listen to it for the same reasons anybody would listen to other genres. Its more than screaming or grunting, the lyrics are very meaningful and the artists are really caring. There are no"effects"other than possibly making someone a stronger person and helping them through tough times. Its also just an awesome genre. Go listen to Bring Me The Horizon dude.

Screamo so popular because its awesome and shows real feelings about things. Some people related to screamo a lot more rather than other genres of music. Screamo can indeed be extremely emotional at times, and have a lot of heartfelt lyrics that makes people want to continue to listen to the music.

Currently, Rock is really big in Germany. Especially punk, metal and screamo.
well firstly it is because radio stations have no proper taste in music. but to be serious radio stations play music which they think everyone likes. and not many people like screamo when you think about it. but whether or not people choose to be g.ay or not its their choice. screamo is awesome!
