Elvis PRESSELY DIED AUGUST 17, 1977 AT the hyoung age of 42 in GRACELAND TENN. HE LOVED HIS PARENTS VERY MUCH.
HE WAS A CHILD OF THE GREAT '29 DEPRESSION. THE HARDSHIPS ON FAMILY THEN , AS they WERE for MOST FAMILIES BACK THEN, did make SURVIVORS OF THAT ERA STRONGER. INEVITABLY, PEOPLE WERE FORCED BY LIFE SITUATIONS TO ADAPT, RECONNOITER, BE CREATIVE, SURVIVE AND OVERCME.
SUCH WAS THE CASE FOR ELVIS. HE WORKED HARD AS TRUCK DRIVER AND ALSO AS AN ELECTRICIAN TO MAKE ENDS MEET. HE HELPED HIS FAMILY TO SURVIVE. IN THE PROCESS, HE DISCOVERED HIS TALENTS AS A GUITAR PLAYER AND SINGER AND MANAGED TO GET A RECORDING WITH HIS BAND SINGING "THAT'S ALRIGHT MAMA, ANY WAY YOU DO"
