The industry standard is 3 years
5 hours of straight driving.
At night with your headlights on you can only see just so far down the road. Overdriving your lights is driving so fast as to not be able to react to something that is beyond the beam of your lights.
The driving distance from Butte, Montana to Seattle, Washington is 594 miles via I-90 W per MapQuest. The driving time per MapQuest is 8 hours and 34 minutes.
They will check your driving record and to see whether you have active suspensions in other states, yes. As far as criminal record goes, only for things which would disqualify you from possessing a drivers license.

Auto accidents, just like traffic tickets are public record and remain on record indefinitely. Most insurers however only look at the last 3 to 5 years of your driving history in order to rate your premium.
They can go back as far as they want too. But most insurers will only be interested in the last 3 to 5 years of your driving record.
Three years.
You make frequent, quick stops. (from the DMV 7-question practice test at practicetest.idrivesafely.com)
Employment history, or driving record? They'll look at your driving record for at least seven years, but, as far as insurance purposes are concerned, the last three years are the ones which matter. DAC reports go back ten years, with the first seven years being full disclosure - after that, it just verifies you were employed. You are required to list ALL previous employment for the last seven years when you apply to a company, and ALL previous USDOT regulated transportation jobs for the last ten years.
For insurance purposes, three years. Anything further than that is up to the employer - they set their own criteria as to what they'll accept and not accept on a driving record.
They can look as far back as they want to. Though most will only look for 5 years.
Never heard of "drive-a-check." If you actually mean a drivers record check, it can go as far back as the person conducting the check wants to go.
As far as they wish, excludindg your juvenile record, of course.
