Singing to the Lord or music in general is a form of worship. When you sing in church, you do not just sing and join the choir, but you prasie God with your voice, music, and rhytm. It's amazing how many people (mostly unbelievers) can sing their hearts out to worldly music, even jumping and raising their hands, but they can't even sing to praise the Lord who gave up His life to save theirs. What a shame. ;
; Exodus 15 : 20-21 : And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels ...... ;
Psalms 150 : 4 : Praise him with the timbrel....... :

I think music does affect religion.
Music and religion come from the same backgound. Music came from people's working. The ancesters used music to encourage themselves in their hard work, sometimes even comfort themselves. And religion also come from this similar background. In those hard years, when peasants were exploited by the governments and nobles, they had to create a religion to make themselves believe that they would have afterlives. So because of the similar backgrounds, music and religion often combine together. Then we see chorus in Christian churches and prayer songs in Buddism temples.
Moreover, music is like the key and help to open our souls. This is what we need in religion. People who pray open their soul to their gods (of different religions) to communicate with them. So in another word, music helps people pray.
Music is related to religion because it says in The Bible to sing praises unto the Lord. Singing is usually accompanied by music.

The morality play is an example of entertainment rising from a religious source. In time the plays became increasingly secular. In music, the popular music seems to have been religious in the early part of the Middle Ages. Like the stage, it became more secular with the passing of time.

well the most common instrument in a church is an organ and you could play the nupcial march or you could get some of your friends (that play any instrument) and play some Beethoven's symphonies or Beethoven's romance music. You could also get someone who plays the violin and play Canon in D by Pachelbel
