To make up a song....set up a topic such as an emotion, or situation, like a break-up. Jot down your ideas, both words and phrases. Then begin to re-arrange the ideas. Decide on a beat or tempo... and begin to hum the tune you begin to create in your mind. Record it-- or write down the notes.
