In a car A/C if it is post 1997 you can buy a kit from any local parts store that will explain but basically there is a service port on the lowpressure side of the system that you attach the freon can to inject the freon in the system. The lower pressure valve is the larger of the two. You will probably need to start the vehicle and get the compressor to begin circulatng to get the full charge. The vehicle manufacturer can tell you how much freon the system takes. It will be measured in pounds and ounces. You can also just use the system pressure as an indicator. Low side pressure should be between 35 and 45 psi. Anything over or under will cause the system t work inefficently. >>>>>>>>>>>> The tag under the hood will tell you the type of refrigerant and ounces of the total charge (not pounds). If you are not totally out of gas, the total charge on the tag is meaningless because you don`t know how much is still left in there. Yes you do have to start the engine and run around 1500 rpm and turn on the ac to do this.

AnswerThere is a hard rock band called AC/DC .In electrical jargon, AC is short for alternating current and DC is short for Direct current.
Check the belt and pulleys. Make sure the AC pulley turns. When the AC is turned on, the clutch should engage to the pulley and the AC compressor should turn, and yes, it can cause the engine to vibrate a little. If the clutch doesn't try to engage, there could be some problems with the AC, but first try to find out what caused the noise, and determine if the AC compressor is turning.
AC= Assigned Court TR= Transfer Docket
behind the dash on the passenger side. Not worth the hassle -- there are forums that teach you to change your air compressor for the AC into an air compressor - fill tires, rafts, beds etc! google it!
Outside at the condenser.
You can fill the AC on the low pressure side of the AC unit. Make sure and only use R12 unless your system has been converted to R134A.
you need to get your ac filled again cost about 60 bucks you need to fill it every 3 or more years.
Connect a gauge and freon can to the low side port of the ac system. Start the car and turn ac on high. Fill freon till the gauge shows full.
Left side under hood.

usually right on or near accumulator
There are ways to fill gas in split air conditioners. If someone attempts this themselves, there can be a gas leak. It is best to hire a professional to do this.
Using a gauge and the proper type of freon, connect to the low side ac gauge. With the ac on high and the engine running fill the system to the full mark on the gauge.

That 35 Ford must be custom built with after market AC. An AC mechanic with the proper tools and equipment can fill that system.
Connect a freon gauge and freon tank to the low side ac port. With the engine running and ac on high, open the freon tank to fill the system to the full line on the gauge.
