When you need to replace the battery in your Viper remote starter, you a screwdriver and new battery. Open the fob using the screwdriver by inserting it in the grove to pry the two parts open. Locate the battery and remove it, then replace it with the new one. Put the two parts of the fob back together.

Sounds like the contacts are still touching some how. Take the keyless apart and spray electronics contact type spray on the contacts and the points where the battery connects to see if this will help. Are you using a brand battery or a cheap-o?

I was informed by a BMW dealer there isn't a battery to replace and you have to order a new remote and then have it programmed by the dealer.

The Battery is located under the passenger front seat, you need to move the seat all the way to the front and the change the battery
