It is also very heavy and not very portable, unless it's an electronic piano, they are much less heavy. An electronic piano can produce some other sounds but not as many as a synthesizer. Every piano has weighted keys (even electronic pianos) and have what's called velocity. Velocity is simply how hard you hit the key the louder the note is and this is also on electronic pianos. A synthesizer usually doesn't come with velocity and weighted keys but there are some models that have those features. Pianos and synthesizers don't have very much in common.
