I believe that Louis Armstrong did own a Baseball team. It was called "Armstrong's Secret 9 Baseball Team of New Orleans". It was an all black team I have an 8x10 photo dated 1931 of him with his team.
Louis Daniel Armstrong was born August 4 1901, in 'Uptown' New Orleans, Louisiana. Louis started his career in music in the Orleans Home for Colored Waifs where he joined the band playing the cornet.Working on riverboats in jazz bands Louis honed his playing style and eventually he was invited by Joe "King" Oliver, to join his Creole jazz band in 1922. He made his first recordings in 1923 on the Gennet and Okeh labels. It was during this period when the public really started to notice this young jazz man with his own distinctive style and Louis rode the popularity of the medium.Sadly Louis Daniel Armstrong suffered a heart attack and died on July 6, 1971.Further reading; All of Me: The Complete Discography of Louis Armstrong by Jos WillemsISBN: 978-0-8108-5730-8Louis: The Louis Armstrong Story, 1900-1971 by Max Jones and John ChiltonISBN: 0-306-80324-0Louis Armstrongs Official website http://www.louisarmstronghouse.org
The real answer is, "best" is a matter of opinion. It's like asking "What's the best car to buy?" All depends on your musical taste. Some would say Miles Davis, others might argue Louis Armstrong. Could go on forever... Dizzy Gillepsi Wynton Marsalis
He is a partial owner with his wife.
Dennis Brain was an English French horn player - scion of a celebrated family of hornists. His recording of the Brahms horn trio is the finest ever made, and his recording of the Mozart concerti is stunning, too.
The most significant groups Armstrong took part in included King Oliver's group the Creole Jazz Band, Armstrong's own Hot Five and Hot Seven bands, the All Stars and Fletcher Henderson's orchestra. He collaborated with many more musicians like country forefather Jimmie Rodgers and blues singer Bessie Smith.
No he was not. Louis Armstrong was a great Jazz musician and Neil Armstrong was a great Astronaut. Both great men in their own rights.

You may be referring to Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong. There were a number of jazz performers during the 1920s, but the majority were instrumentalists-- that is, they played trumpet or piano or they led their own orchestra, but they did not sing. Louis Armstrong was one of the few who did both-- playing his instrument and singing.
