(Franz) Joseph Haydn, composer of the Classical Period -
Born - 1732 in Rohrau, Austria
Died - May, 1809 in Vienna, Austria He seems to have had not much luck in love. His first love had become a nun, so Haydn agreed to marry her sister, Maria Anna Keller, who was bad-tempered, unattractive, did not seem to care much for him and, she was unable to have children. By the time Maria died in 1800, Haydn was too old to be thinking of marriage and children.
In general it is believed that Joseph Haydn did not have any children. Some experts, however, say that he did have a son with his lover the singer L. Polzelli in Eisenstadt.
Haydn had three sisters and two brothers. His brother Michael Haydn was also a composer. There were also brother Johann Evangelist, and sisters Franziska, Anna Maria, and Anna Katherina.
Joseph Haydn did NOT have good health.
