In their teens
John had a band and was introduced to Paul
Paul was then let in the band and ask John if his friend George could be in it
When they wanted to become better and actually take it seriously, they got rid of their current drummer (Pete Best) and invited Richard Starky aka Ringo Starr into it....
and there you have it
They met on Saturday, July 6, 1957. John (aged 16) and his band the Quarrymen were performing at a fête at St. Peter's Woolton Parish Church in Liverpool. Paul (aged 15) was wheeling around on his bicycle - hoping to pick up girls - and heard the Quarrymen play. A mutual friend named Ivan Vaughan introduced Paul to John. Paul whipped out the guitar strapped to his back and played "Twenty Flight Rock" and "Be-Bop-a-Lula", among others. John was impressed that Paul could tune a guitar and "looked like Elvis", and John said that he "dug him." That October, Ivan told Paul that John wanted him in the band. The rest, as they say, is history.
They met at a Woolton (suburb of Liverpool) garden fete in the summer of 1957, where John's band (the Quarry Men) performed. They were introduced by Ivan Vaughan, a mutual friend.
Let John's Legend Live on Forever!!!!in 1957 Paul and John met when Paul's friend asked him to go to a little show. Turns out John's band, The Quarrymen Skiffle Group, was playing there so John and Paul met backstage after the show was over and Paul started playing 25 rock by: Eddie Cochman and John asked Paul if he wanted to join the band and the next day Paul said yes. Then I think a year later George joined. Then in 1960 Ringo fully joined the band.
John Lennon aged 17 met Paul McCartney aged 15 on Saturday July 6th, 1957, at Woolton Parish Church Garden Fete, Liverpool.
Well, Paul and John were introduced after the first Quarrymen concert. The Quarrymen were a band before the Beatles members were: John Lennon, Eric Griffiths, Pete Shotton, George Harrison and finally Paul McCartney.
Ivan Vaughan, a mutual friend of both Paul an John, asked Paul to go with him to the concert. After the concert, Ivan Vaughan introduced them and told the Quarrymen that Paul was a great guitar player.
After that McCartney join the band and became great friends with Lennon. McCartney even taught Lennon songs on the guitar. The two discussed songs together. At Lennon mother's (Julia) funeral, Lennon slapped 2 members Pete and Paul. After slapping Paul he apologized and they then hugged. After her death they went to Gremany and years after became the Beatles.
They met at a church fete in July 1957. John was 16 years old. Paul was intoduced to John by a friend. Paul took out a guitar, tuned it and started to play some popular tunes of the times- "Twenty Flight Rock" and Be-Bop-a lula". John was floored at Paul's talent and the fact that he sort of looked like Elvis (remember in working class Liverpool, American rock was the thing! and Elvis was king). John was shown some guitar chords by Paul, remember John's mother taught him on a banjo and the chords are not quite the same.
John's group The Quarrymen (named after the school he attended) was playing a concert.
Hope this helps
