Somewhere around 1989, two years after Holly left and the ZTT legal battle had been settled, the remaining members of FGTH tried to reform with singers such as Dee Harris from Fashion and Grant Boult (Jeckyl Ice) from The Promise, but their reformation was cut short when Holly Johnson challenged the continued use of the name without his presence. In 2002 or so, a band called "The New Frankie Goes to Hollywood" appeared, fronted by Davey Johnson, who claimed to be Holly Johnson's brother. The band played a few Frankie tracks, but actually had nothing to do with FGTH. Likewise, "Davey Johnson" is no relative of Holly's. In 2003, most of the band reunited, except for Johnson and Brian Nash, with a new vocalist, Ryan Molloy for the Bands Reunited VH-1 Program. Later these members attempted to continue on as Forbidden Hollywood, playing new material alonging the classic FGTH hits. The name change was to prevent being sued again for the use of Frankie. But the whole thing fell apart again and as of 2007 there has been no reformation.
