mostly done by the 35-50 year old men, who restore cars to "as close as affordably original condition". these guys only go so far to restore cars and many times take shortcuts or affordable decisions to make the project complete. very few cars are done right or in concourse conditions.
most of these cars are imported from California or Arizona as the cars here don't last or are too far gone to restore.
the few good shops are more interested in paint jobs and upholstery than stripping down to the frame and doing it up right. times are hard right now and most people are not throwing money at cars like they used to. many cars are locked up in private collections and are not budging as well.
