First make sure you have iTunes and an iTunes account. To get iTunes, go to apple.com/itunes, download and install this. Then create an account. With your iPod you should have got a white cord that connects from your iPod to the usb port in your computer. Connect these two. It should tell your computer you're trying to connect to iTunes, if it doesn't find iTunes on your desktop or in your start menu>programs (considering you're working on Windows). It should pull up for you to sign in, then register your iPod through your iTunes which is a step by step process on the iTunes. And you should be connected.
Download the itunes installer from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ . This works for xp and vista.

No, it does not. You have download and install it.
Just install ITunes for Windows 7 x64.
Windows CE doesn't come in a generic form; it has to be tailored for your specific device. So while it is technically possible, it is impossible for the typical consumer to do.
You don't. Use rhytmbox instead. If you NEED itunes you can install it through wine (see link). It got a bronze rating, so there might be some issues. It may or may not run. See second link for details.
Yes, but it runs well on the machine you CE it unless you want to try to do less then minimum then it crashes and you need to reinstall it all.
Windows XP is a classic version of windows. Itunes would install on it but it may be the much newer version of itunes. A tape camcorder works on windows xp but not on vista. New programs may not work on old systems but you can try to troubleshoot. Try deleting some items, your computer may be a bit full and not enough room for the itunes and try looking up some files needed for the installation.
