If its your friends, dont go screaming I QUIT!!!! you say you dont like the genre of music you play and you say sorry and you still want to be friends. or say you dont like the way you dont get to make desisions with the band. If they are not really your friends just say i quit an say see you in the battle of the bands.
If it's your teacher then have your mom email her explaining that it is no longer your interest and you don't really want to be apart of it anymore. Apologize and change your schedual. Or if you just dont know how to change your schedule then email the principal soon after school starts or at semester change and get in a different class.
here is what i would do. tell them you can't be in the band anymore because your grades are slipping, or if your an A student tell them you don't want your grades to slip, so it's time for me to leave the band, I'm sorry guys, so see ya!
or you can come straight out with why you want to leave. sometime telling the truth is the bet option or they'll find out and rip your head off!
