based on my experience, yes.it gave me the yellow light of death.
Considering the YLOD (yellow light of death) indicates a debilitating malfunction with your system's hard drive and a solid red light means the system is off... I'd say it's infinitely worse. Best of luck to you!
You can send your ps3 back to Sony but it will cost about $50 for shipping and if you are out of warranty it will be another $150. If you are having problems with your system check out the link below. They also have a link to Sony where you can get more information
CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE 2 and PLAYING IT TO MUCH......... Yellow light of death is caused by overheating and poor design of cooling and chip attachment to the motherboard. After playing your PS3 for a few hours what happens is the temperature rises to a point where the solder joints attaching the CPU and GPU chips to the motherboard liquefy and then solidify again once you switch the console off. For more information see the attached link.
You are probably talking about Yellow light of death that comes on when you CPU over heats and melts components the best way to ignore it is not to over heat it keep it out of sun, always clean out your vents and fans every 3-6 months will work like a charm

The game does not cause the yellow light of death. You can know this for sure because not every person who has a PS3 that had the yellow light of death has played Call of Duty games.

You need to take out the motherboard and give it a thorough clean, as in some cases of the yellow light of death the console has been overused. It is also due to the heating and cooling of your motherboard. You need to reflow it. You can learn how to do that at http://www.howtofixyellowlightonps3.com/.
