The organizers of the Woodstock Festival were John Roberts, Joel Rosenman, Artie Kornfeld, and Mike Lang. Kornfeld and Lang's original proposal was to build a recording studio and a retreat for rock musicians up in Woodstock from August 15-18, 1969.
The idea for the Woodstock Festival came from Michael Lang, and Artie Kornfeld, and financed by John Roberts and Joel Rosenman.
